Helmut Marko has explained why he did not call Yuki Tsunoda right after the Japanese racer was promoted to Red Bull.
Following the Chinese Grand Prix, Red Bull chose to swap Tsunoda and Liam Lawson, demoting the latter while handing Tsunoda a long-awaited opportunity in the senior team.
However, Tsunoda claimed on Thursday in Japan that he had yet to hear from Red Bull’s motorsport advisor Marko, despite the fact that the swap had been announced nearly a week ago.
Marko has now explained his side of the tale, including how Tsunoda’s three phone numbers became involved.
