BREAKING NEWS: Team USA Riders Announced for the 2024 Motocross of Nations.

The annual Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) Motocross of Nations (MXoN) will be held from October 4-6, 2024, at Matterley Basin in Winchester, United Kingdom. With the race soon approaching, the three cyclists that will represent the United States have been announced. Chase Sexton will compete in the MXGP class, Chance Hymas in the MX2 division, and Aaron Plessinger in the Open category.

“This team has the shared mission of returning the United States to the top of the podium on the global stage, and they will work hard to achieve that goal,” AMA Director of Racing Mike Pelletier stated. “We have got together three exceptional riders who are keen to serve their country. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish as a team this year.”

Roger DeCoster, an AMA Motocross Hall of Fame great with five motocross world championship titles to his name, will once again serve as team manager for the United States effort. DeCoster, who is currently the motorsports director for KTM/Husqvarna/GasGas North America, will use his extensive expertise as a competitor and race team manager to guide the trio of young and eager riders representing the stars and stripes to the top step of the podium.

“I’m pleased we are able to put forward another strong contingent of riders at this year’s 2024 Motocross of Nations,” DeCoster told the crowd. “All three riders were eager to sign up for the opportunity to represent their country and fly the red, white, and blue flag for Team USA in the UK. Chase, Aaron, and Chance all had highly successful AMA Pro Motocross seasons this year, earning their spots on the squad.

“I’d want to thank Honda for answering the call and displaying unflinching support for Chance’s first-time selection to the squad, as well as KTM for their ongoing support of Des Nations efforts. It is and should always be the greatest honor to represent your country on the international stage, and I have the biggest respect for any rider or team who takes on the challenge. With this combination of three extremely patriotic and accomplished riders, I have high hopes that we will be waving the American flag from the top step of the podium this year.”

The FIM Motocross of Nations was founded in 1947 and is one of the world’s most important racing events each year, with national teams from all around the world competing for motocross supremacy. The US team has won the race 23 times, 21 of which were with DeCoster at the helm. Team USA’s most recent triumph came on home turf in 2022 at RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan.
