Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa are reportedly vying for England international Noni Madueke from Chelsea.
The 23-year-old rose through the ranks at Spurs before leaving to join Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven as a youngster.
Madueke returned to England during the January 2023 transfer window, joining Premier League giants Chelsea for around £28.5 million.
The England international has 17 goals and seven assists in 76 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, but he is expected to leave before the summer transfer window.
Last week, a report from GiveMeSport said Aston Villa is ‘leading the race’ to sign £30 million-rated Madueke, with Chelsea ‘starting to give signs that they will entertain bids when the transfer window reopens.
There is ‘growing confidence that Chelsea are prepared to cash in if a good deal that allows them to make a marginal profit is made’, with Aston Villa ahead of Newcastle United.
According to Football Insider, Tottenham are also interested in Madueke and are ‘plotting a surprise move’ to get him.
Chelsea are apparently ready to sanction his departure, with head coach Enzo Maresca having ‘doubts’ about the winger for one reason.
‘This comes as Enzo Maresca is concerned about where the winger fits into his system and is ready to authorize his departure at the conclusion of the season.
‘Sources suggest Spurs are now keen in bringing him back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and may make a move to sign him this summer.’
Former Premier League scout Mick Brown believes Spurs could make a move for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer.
“We talk about Bruno Fernandes at Man United, Marcus Rashford at Villa, Alexander Isak at Newcastle, and at Palace that player is Eze,” Brown pointed out.
“If they can get the ball into him frequently enough, he can do something no one else in that team can.
Because of this, they are determined to keep him at the club; he makes a difference, and they would miss him if he departed this summer.
“They want to keep him and I don’t expect he’s the type of player to force through a move unless Palace’s asking price is met.” Tottenham have been interested for a long time, and he fits their profile.
“If Eze has the option to transfer to a team like Tottenham, I believe he would be open to it, and this is not a knock on Palace or their achievements.
