Fernando Alonso has received an Aston Martin gift: an Adrian Newey-designed Valkyrie.
At home in Monaco, two-time Formula One winner Alonso was given a 6.5-litre V12 engine capable of producing 1,155bhp. Fernando Alonso has accepted delivery of an Adrian Newey-designed Aston Martin.
The Valkyrie, limited to only 150 units, was designed by outgoing Red Bull chief technical officer Newey while Aston sponsored Red Bull before transitioning to its own works F1 programme in 2021.
Newey is departing Red Bull as CTO and, according to RacingNews365, is anticipated to join Alonso at Aston Martin in the second quarter of 2025, before the rules reset in 2026.
Executive chairman Lawrence Stroll has described Newey as “clearly the most talented and gifted individual in Formula One,” with a massive cash offer set to entice Newey to Silverstone, where the team has recently invested in a brand-new factory and cutting-edge wind tunnel.
An announcement is expected before the Azerbaijan Grand Prix weekend from September 13th to 15th.

“It’s difficult to put into words how much I’ve been looking forward to this day,” added Alonso, whose car has a red anodized aluminum accelerator pedal with his racing number, #14.
